Lockdown: FG Set to Issue Guidelines on Schools Reopening

Nigeria’s Federal Government on Wednesday stated it is set to issue out a course of action towards the resumption of school activities across the country.

This was revealed by Boss Mustapha, the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, while responding to questions briefing in Abuja.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation who was congratulating children all over the country for this year’s Children’s Day, impressed on stakeholders to kick start processes that would aid the government’s push to reopen schools in the country.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation was emphatic on the Federal Ministry of Education rolling out effective measures towards the resumption of schools across the federation.

He assured pupils, students, parents, as well as stakeholders that the government has it’s hands on deck to ensure schools are reopened in no distance time while putting safety measures in check.

Mustapha simply ceased the medium of addressing children on the briefing to call on local governments, states, private school proprietors and all concerned stakeholders to embark on steps that will initiate an early and safe reopening of schools.
The Federal Ministry of Education ordered the closure of tertiary institutions, secondary as well as primary schools across the country following the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic.

The Ministry on March 19, explained it was all precautionary measures to contain the spread of the lethal virus in the country.
