A magistrate court sitting in Lagos state has remanded a man accused of rape.

According to reports from the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, the accused, identified as Kajola Ahmed, a 54-year-old man allegedly defiled a 12-year-old girl.

Daily Report Nigeria gathers that the suspect committed the offence at No. 28, Tomatee Hotel Street, Ajegunle in the Ita-Oluwo area of Ikorodu.

During the hearing in the court, which was presided by Chief Magistrate, B.A. Sonuga, the prosecuting counsel noted that the suspect committed the crime on the 17th of July, 2024, around 11am.

 

Delivering judgement, the judge didn’t listen to the plea of the defendant, and adjourned the case until February 27, so as to obtain legal advice from the office of the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions, DPP.

 

NCC Orders Telcos to Disconnect USSD Codes of 9 Banks Over Unpaid Debts

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has authorized telecommunications companies to disconnect the Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) codes.

The affected banks, including Fidelity Bank Plc and United Bank for Africa Plc, have failed to comply with regulatory directives to settle outstanding invoices due to mobile network operators (MNOs).
