Men of the Ogun state police command have arrested a man for raping, and impregnating a minor in the state.
According to reports, the accused, identified as Akeem Sumonu, a 20-year-old man is said to have raped the 16-year-old victim.

Daily Report Nigeria gathers that the incident, which reportedly happened in the Olodo Community of Odeda Local Government Area, Ogun State came to light after the victim’s mother’s, simply identified as Christiana reported to the police.
She added that the suspect forcefully attacked and raped her daughter in October, before threatening to her keep it secret.
The girl kept it a secret, but however confided in her mother after noticing some changes in her body.

The suspect was arrested on Tuesday, Dec. 24, by operatives stationed at the community’s security post, the Ogun State Police Command disclosed on Wednesday, Dec. 25.
Confirming the arrest, the spokesperson of the command, SP Omolola Odutola said;
“The victim hid the incident from her parents until the complainant noticed unusual signs on her body.
The suspect has been arrested and detained. Further investigation will take place once the case is transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department,”
