Manchester City: Trouble in the City, and a Bigger Problem for Pep Guardiola | Daily Report Nigeria
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is in real trouble as they missed out to sign a striker

There has been a visible gap due to the failed striker search by Manchester City’s manager. The club attempted to seal a deal for Harry Kane during the summer transfer window but the deal fell off. This setback has left the team short of senior strikers this summer.

The pursuit of Harry Kane caused the club to miss out on Ronaldo. The club pursued Harry Kane with everything they had hence they didn’t exactly see the importance when ‘CR7′ announced his move away from Juventus.  Missing both opportunities is disastrous to the team, seemingly falling in City’s lap and then slipping through could cause nightmares this season for the team.

What are other forwards Pep Could have considered signing?
Dusan Vlahovic

He is a 21-year-old that has scored 21 goals in 37 Serie A appearances last season. That is not his first time playing on a team. He has been around for a while since he was 15 years old when he made his debut for Partizan Belgrade, Serbia.

He is an excellent forward with pace for an excellent counter-attack.

He is being compared to the likes of Erling Haaland and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Manchester City could have made him a long-term investment. A young and vibrant player.

Erling Haaland

He is a sensational player who has been making names right from his U15 and U20 days in the Norwegian team. From the day of his debut in Norway, he has been scoring goals and breaking records.

Haaland has endangered defenses by scoring 40 goals in 43 league appearances since he got to Borussia Dortmund. He has even won the  Bundesliga Player of the Season this past season. This is a title that has always been won by Robert Lewandowski.

Robert Lewandowski

He has been the best striker in the world consecutively for three seasons at least, and is known for his prowess to score goals.

In the Bundesliga, he has scored 99goals in his 99 appearances. That earned him his “hitman” nickname. In interviews,  he expresses that he is open to a challenge in Europe before retirement.

Although, the fee Bayern wanted was high. They requested £100m for the 33-year-old. But they might be paying for their money’s worth.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Aubameyang has an impressive record that can not be forgotten.

He was put up for a rather cheap price, his age and recent form might have gone against him.

These are alternatives Guardiola could have gone after but now, trouble looms.
