Manchester United ended their long awaited trophy drought after beating Newcastle 2-0 to win the Carabao Cup.

Casemiro opened the scoring with a wonderful header for Erik ten Hag’s side before they double their with an own goal from Sven Botman at the Wembley Stadium.

Its their first piece of silverware since they were champions under Jose Mourinho in 2017 when they won the Europa League.

This could be the first of a potential quadruple, with the team still in the FA Cup, Europa League and still having an outside shot of winning the Premier League.

For Newcastle, their 54-year wait for a trophy – and 68 years for a domestic trophy – goes on.
