Cristiano Ronaldo has been a target of major criticism in recent days after the United superstar granted a controversial interview to a journalist, Piers Morgan.
Ronaldo told Morgan in the interview that he felt “betrayed” by United, that he has no respect for Ten Hag, and that the club has made zero progress since longtime manager Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.
This has caused a major steer amongst fans and the football world.
Manchester United have delayed in coming up with a response.
According to ESPN, the Red Devils will seek to terminate Ronaldo’s contract and may sue him for breaching his deal.
On Friday, the club released an official statement, saying;
“Manchester United has this morning initiated appropriate steps in response to Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent media interview. We will not be making further comments until this process reaches its conclusion.”
However, the club’s manager, Erik ten Hag was revealed to have met with United’s co-chairman Joel Glazer, chief executive Richard Arnold and football director John Murtough on Monday and told them he doesn’t want Ronaldo to be a member of his team anymore.
Cristiano Ronaldo is away with Portugal for the Qatar World Cup where he will be making his fifth appearance at the event .
