In a dazzling display of footballing prowess, Manchester United surged past Barnsley with a resounding 7-0 triumph in the third round of the 2024 Carabao Cup at Old Trafford.

Under the astute guidance of Erik ten Hag, the Red Devils exhibited sheer dominance from the outset.

Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho were the standout performers, each contributing a brace to the scoreline.

The onslaught began with an early strike from Rashford, swiftly followed by a penalty expertly converted by Antony. Garnacho then added his name to the scoresheet, ensuring a comfortable 3-0 lead at halftime.

The second half saw no respite for Barnsley as United maintained their relentless pressure. Garnacho and Rashford each found the net once more, before Christian Eriksen capped off the evening with two late goals, sealing the emphatic victory.

Interestingly, this commanding win propels Manchester United into the next round of the competition, with their fixture list set to intensify across various fronts.

The draw for the fourth round is scheduled for Wednesday.
