Spain defender Marc Cucurella has expressed his hope that England star Cole Palmer will remain on the bench for their Euro 2024 final clash on Sunday. Cucurella and Palmer are club teammates at Chelsea.
Palmer made a significant impact off the bench in England’s 2-1 semi-final victory over the Netherlands, providing the assist for Ollie Watkins’ 90th-minute winner.
Cucurella told Mundo Deportivo, “I spoke with him, but it was over a week ago. We talked for a while in the previous rounds. For me, it’s much better if he doesn’t play and stays on the bench.”
