M@d Dog Attack 5-Year-Old Girl, Bites Off Owners Face In Ibadan | Daily Report Nigeria

Drama has u folded in a community in Ibadan after a dog attacked a young girl, and an elderly woman, who is it’s owner.

According to reports, the incident, which occured in Adagbada Arola area of Apete, Ibadan, Oyo State saw a young girl, 5-year-old, identified as Moridiyat Rauf being attacked by a dog of a woman she went to spend time with.

It was gathered that the little girl usually go to the woman’s house to play with her, and the dog is usually chained, but on this particular day, the dog had somehow loosened itself.

The dog reportedly pounced on her when she entered the gate, and bit off her hair and flesh covering her head. The owner of the dog, kowns as Mrs Esther in a bid to save the girl alao got her tongue and a big chunk of her face ripped off by the dog.

 

Nigerian Tribune reports that neighbours and sympathisers started looking for items to dislodge the dog, as they were afraid to immediately move in to avoid the dog turning on them.

Eventually, they succeeded in subduing the dog and rescued the girl.

Speaking to Nigerian tribune, the brother of the girl said;

“I heard the piercing cry of my sister and went to trace where she was. As I stood at the gate of the woman’s house, I was shocked by what I saw. The mummy shielded my sister with her body. I started shouting ‘Dog! Dog!’ I shook the gate. I picked stones and climbed the fence, but the dog held on to my sister and its owner. Other people started coming to find a way of rescuing them. We were looking for a weapon that would subdue it. Eventually, elders got in, killed the dog and quickly rushed my sister to the hospital,”

Moridiyat and the dog owner gave been transfered to the University College Hospital (UCH), where they are currently receiving treatment.
