What could have been another terrible day for Zamfara state had been averted by the Nigerian military as troops of the Joint Task Force of Operation Hadarin Daji have successfully repeled an attempted attack by some bandits on the state.

A reliable source close to the military informed DAILY POST that the troops of OPHD repelled the planned attack on Karazau village in Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State after responding to a distress call about a large number of armed terrorists attacking the village.

The source made it known that as the troops approached the village, they were ambushed by armed terrorists.

“However, the combat-ready troops, with tactical abilities and reinforcement, successfully cleared the ambush and forced the bandits to retreat, with several of them meeting their demise.

“Subsequently, the troops are now dominating the general area with aggressive and confidence-building patrols to deny the terrorists freedom of action.” the source stated.
