Zamfara: Terrorists Kill Two, Abduct Lecturer, Others

Suspected armed bandits have once again launched an attack on Maru town, the headquarters of Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, killing two persons and abducting four.

A resident of the area, Usman Ibrahim, disclosed that the terrorists stormed the town last Saturday night, killing two people and abducting four others, including a lecturer from the state College of Education (COE).

The abducted lecturer has been identified as Nasiru Mohammed Anka, a lecturer at the College of Education Maru.

“The terrorists entered the town with sophisticated weapons and began shooting sporadically. Later, they moved from house to house, where they abducted four people.

“They also opened fire on others who tried to escape the abduction. They killed two people and injured many others during the operation.” Ibrahim stated.

According to another resident, Isiaku: “The terrorists have been attacking the town, even though it is a local government headquarters and very close to the Gusau-Sokoto road. Just last week, they attacked the town.”
