Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed how he was arrested by his father, Chief Adedeji Adeleke.
According to Davido, the senior Adeleke sent police to arrest him on several occasions in the early days of his career.
The ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ said his dad was initially against his musical career and wanted him to focus on his education full time.
David was featured on Ebro recently on the Morning show on Hot 97FM, New York, USA, on the heels of his album release.
The singer said his dad sent police operatives to arrest him and disrupt shows he was billed to perform at several times.
He said, “He sent police to get me like he sees a billboard; for example, ‘Davido performing, Wizkid performing’. He will send police to arrest everybody.”
When asked why his dad sent police to arrest him, Davido said, “So, I can go back to school.”
