Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis expressed that parting ways with their star striker, Victor Osimhen, would be a decision driven more by emotions than finances.
Osimhen, who reportedly has a release clause of €120-130 million, has attracted interest from top clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain.
De Laurentiis acknowledged the challenge of seeing Osimhen depart the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium after his remarkable four-season stint with the club.

Despite the potential financial gain, the emotional aspect of letting go of such a key player weighs heavily on Napoli.
“Osimhen has a release clause. That’s a lot of money. Money is Napoli’s latest problem,” De Laurentiis said at the FT’s Football Business Summit:
“We have always made good purchases and will continue to do so in the future.
“The problem is only sentimental, because every time a player leaves it’s like saying goodbye to a child, but at the same time you’re happy even when he achieves success elsewhere.”
Osimhen’s impressive performance, with 11 goals in 15 league appearances this season, further underscores his importance to the team.
