Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has dissolved the State Executive Council and relieved all commissioners and the former Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Muhammad Aliyu, of their duties.

The governor also appointed Labaran Magaji, the immediate past Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, as the new SSG.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony held at the Government House in Lafia, Governor Sule explained that the shake-up was necessary to enhance service delivery in the state.

“This was done to bring in new hands that would bring fresh perspectives into the system, enhancing our capacity to deliver quality service for the progress and development of our dear state,” he said.

The governor described the Office of the SSG as the engine room of government, requiring an individual with deep knowledge of governance and administration.

He said Magaji’s legal expertise, public service experience, and commitment to Nasarawa’s development as key factors behind his appointment.

“Barr. Labaran Magaji is a legal luminary, technocrat with global experience, and an unassuming politician who has served Nasarawa and Nigeria in various capacities.His contributions to our administration and Project Nasarawa are legendary.”

Sule expressed confidence that Magaji’s loyalty, competence, and dedication would further advance the administration’s goals.

Governor Sule also thanked the outgoing executive council members, including the former SSG, Muhammad Aliyu, for their service and contributions to the state.

Nassarawa Governor Suspends Board Over Teachers Employment Fraud

Gov Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state has suspended the chairman and board members of the state’s Teachers Service Commission following the unauthorized employment of over 1,000 teachers.

The governor had previously emphasized that only teachers properly recruited through approved processes would receive their full entitlements.
