The Nigerian Navy has declared 43 ratings wanted for abscondment.

A circular containing the photographs and names of the deserters displayed at the Navy Headquarters in Abuja, stated that anyone with useful information that could lead to the deserters arrest should report to the nearest naval facility or police station.

It also mandated all naval personnels with information on the whereabouts of the missing officials to apprehend them or be dealt with as accomplices.

The naval ratings, who were learnt serving on naval vessels on foreign missions, absconded when their ships berthed in Europe.

The circular also provided where information relating to the movement of the wanted officers and their contact telephone numbers could be relayed.

The circular reads in part;

 “Above are the Nigerian Navy personnel who have deserted from Service recently.

“Accordingly, you are pleased requested to assist in providing useful information that will lead to their arrest or you may apprehend any one of them when seen and handover to the nearest Nigerian Navy base or security station”.

Some of the deserted officers are identified as G. Osazuwa, A.Hassan, K. Armstrong, S. C.Adiele, I.E. Brown, A. Yusuf, E.S. Anthony, and others.
