The Indian Government has reportedly banned its citizens from visiting pornographic websites.

India’s Department of Telecom (DoT) in an email to internet service providers asked them to block 63 websites based on the order of a Pune Court and 4 other websites based on the order of the Uttarakhand High Court ruling.

The order read:

The Internet Service Providers (licensees) are accordingly directed to immediately block access to the above Websites/Urls as mentioned in the court order.

Also, the email read:

Websites tarnish the image of modesty of women.”

It was gathered that the websites have been banned under the new IT Rules 2021, which bans content that “shows such individual in full or partial nudity or shows or depicts such individual in any s3xual act or conduct.”

Earlier on October 27, 2018, the Indian government directed the internet service providers to ban a total of 827 porn sites.

A rapist had confessed at that time he forcefully had carnal knowledge of his victim after visiting a pornography website.

Meanwhile, the government has the ban on pornographic websites in the country.
