The ongoing probe of the Niger Delta Development Commission by the Federal House of Representatives has taken a new twist as investigations continued on Monday.

The Chairman of the House Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, announced his resignation before the the Committee as investigations began on Monday.

His resignations is touted by many to be a recused, declaring himself fit to act in the capacity of presiding over the investigation of the Interim Management Committee of the NDDC.

Recall that the Prof Kemebradikumo Pondei led Interim Management Committee of the NDDC had last week questioned the eligibility of Hon Tonji-Ojo to preside over the investigations following his alleged involvement in looting the commission.

The Prof Pondei led IMC later walked out on the Committee, leading to calls for their arrest by the Committee.
