The Federal Government of Nigeria has denied reports that the United Arab Emirates has lifted visa ban on Nigerians.

Reports were rife on Tuesday that the UAE has resumed visa issuance to Nigerians visa issuance to Nigerians effective from March 4, 2024.

The report was accredited to the Special Adviser on Information and strategy to President Bola Tinubu, Bayo Onanuga.

However, Onanuga in a follow up tweet, debunked the reports, saying there was no authorization from either nations regarding alleged suspension of visa ban.

“UAE has not resumed visa issuance to Nigerians,” Onanuga tweeted.

“The document in circulation is not authorized either by the Nigerian government or the UAE,” he added.

Recall that the UAE announced a bisa ban on Nigerians following developments it was not comfortable with.

Prior to the ban, Dubai in the UAE was the tourist destination of Nigerians of all walks of life as many Nigerians owned a lot of property and businesses in Dubai.
