Nigeria Has a Lot to Learn From China – PDP.

Dr Iyorchia Ayu, National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), believes Nigeria can learn a lot from China, particularly its industrialization model.

On Friday, Ayu was paid a courtesy visit by a two-man delegation from the Chinese Embassy, Messrs Wu Baocai and Li Ineijian, in his office at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja.

Baocai and Ineijian are Communist Party of China (CPC) representatives at the Chinese Embassy in Abuja.

Ayu stated in a statement issued by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, that Nigeria was impressed by China’s great industrial leap, particularly in the last 30 to 40 years.

He attributed it largely to the vision of the ruling Communist Party of China, the government’s will, and the people’s discipline.

Recalling that Nigeria and China have a long history of mutual cooperation, the PDP national chairman stated that the cooperation would be expanded and strengthened when the PDP returns to power in 2023.

“We welcome you to the PDP and thank you for the cooperative gesture; the invitation to the PDP leadership and Nigerian youths to visit China, as well as the plan to increase educational and entrepreneurial exchanges between our countries.”

Nigeria can learn a lot from China, particularly its industrialization model.

This is a country that has been subjected to colonial oppression. It, too, has a large population and a tumultuous history, as does Nigeria.

But, after 100 years of humiliation, it has risen to become an industrial giant and, arguably, the world’s largest economy.

“The CPC has largely eradicated poverty in China and touched lives even in the most remote areas of the country,” Ayu said.

Ayu stated that when the PDP regained power, it was determined to eradicate poverty in the country and generally improve the average Nigerian’s quality of life.

“When we retake power in 2023, we will deepen and broaden our cooperation with your country.”

The Chinese are industrial leaders, and we want our people to benefit from their energy.

We want a collaboration that benefits our people as well. “We don’t want a one-sided relationship,” he went on to say.

Earlier, the Chinese delegation’s leader, Baocai, stated that the Communist Party of China (CPC) had decided to open a party office in the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria, citing Nigeria’s growing importance in global affairs and the need to strengthen political ties.

While the CPC office in Nigeria only opened four months ago, he claims that the party already has offices in three other strategic African countries: South Africa, Egypt, and Kenya.

Following that, Baocai sued for political, educational, and entrepreneurial exchanges between China and Nigeria, promising to provide scholarships to Nigerian youths interested in studying in China.

Other members of the PDP National Working Committee were present at the meeting.
