A serving soldier of the Nigerian Army, Lance Corporal Martins, has been reportedly arrested following a video he made, berating the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, alongside other security chiefs in the country.

According to sources who spoke to SaharaReporters, Lance was picked up upon the orders of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Buratai.

Revealed: Why Police Took Over APC National Secretariat

The source stated that the soldier was arrested by a group of senior military officers, who revealed that they were simply acting by and following an “order from above”.

Lance Corporal Martins had in a 12-minute long video, demonstrated his anger towards the country’s security chiefs, especially Tukur Buratai, and Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin, for being lackadaisical and not committed bringing a final end to the incessant killings of Nigerians by armed bandits and terrorist groups.

The soldier disclosed how the Nigerian military had unlawfully detained some of his colleagues, over their demands for better weapons and ammunitions for the fight against Boko Haram and armed bandits in Nigeria.

Lance somehow knew what he was getting himself to as he stated that though he might be arrested or probably end up being killed for his actions, he was willing and ready to sacrifice his life for Nigeria’s betterment.
