Renewable and clean fuel from trees has been discovered by Apostle George Oghenejabo Taigbenu, a cleric and inventor from Delta State.

The new product, he claims, is capable of powering generators, motorcycles, cars, and even airplanes, while producing no soot emissions.

The innovator, who hails from Erowha Kingdom in Isoko South Local Government Area, said his passion for tackling climate change and creating jobs inspired the discovery.

He explained that unlike fossil fuels that stain generator exhausts with black soot, his palm-based fuel leaves no residue even after extended usage, a breakthrough that could protect millions from harmful emissions.

“The world is moving beyond fossil fuels, and Nigeria must not be left behind.

“My fuel is clean, renewable, and environmentally friendly. It will not only protect our people from harmful emissions but also reduce the cost of energy for homes, businesses, and even airlines,”he said.

The product has been certified by the Nigerian Building and Road Research Agency in Abuja, confirming its usability across multiple engines.

Taigbenu believes the invention could serve as an alternative to jet fuel, potentially cutting the high cost of air travel in Nigeria.

Despite setbacks during testing, including failed trials and scepticism from the public, he persevered and now produces the fuel in commercial quantities through his company, Taigbenu Oil and Gas Limited.

The firm also produces cooking gas and fertiliser as part of its clean energy drive.

The cleric’s long-term vision includes establishing a refinery within five to ten years to create thousands of jobs and expand Nigeria’s renewable energy sector.

He links his work to the “Delta Beyond Oil” initiative, aiming to reposition the Niger Delta as a hub for sustainable energy.

His invention has drawn praise from political leaders, including All Progressives Congress executives in Abuja and former governors.

He also disclosed that international investors, particularly from the United Kingdom, are already engaging him through regular online meetings.

“I want to make Nigeria proud and put Isoko Nation, Delta State, and the entire Niger Delta on the global map of innovation,” he said.
