A group of Nigerian traders, operating under Amalsco Industries, has formally petitioned the Chinese Embassy seeking a refund of $218,280 from the Plusp Group of Companies Ltd., a Chinese firm based in Lanshan District, Linyin Sahadan.

The traders allege a breach of trade agreement regarding an order placed five years ago that has yet to be fulfilled.

The petition, led by Alhaji Ibrahim Inuwa, outlines that on January 7, 2018, they entered into a trade agreement with a Plusp Group agent, Mr. Zhu, and made the payment for products that were never delivered. Inuwa noted that this incident marked a stark departure from their previous successful business dealings with Chinese companies.

“We have always enjoyed an excellent trade relationship with China, but this company has changed the narrative,” Inuwa stated. Despite multiple visits to China and ongoing promises from the company, the goods remain undelivered, and communication with Mr. Zhu has ceased.

In their petition, the traders urged both the Chinese Embassy and the Nigerian Embassy in China to investigate the matter, compelling Plusp Group to either deliver the goods or refund the payment.

They have also sought the support of the Kano Council of Traders and Entrepreneurs Union in their efforts to recover the funds.

“We hope the Chinese government will intervene to safeguard their reputation and ensure we receive our money back,” Inuwa added, expressing confidence that they possess all necessary documentation to support their claims.

The traders are determined to pursue this matter, emphasizing the importance of integrity in international trade.
