Nigerian sprint star, Tobi Amusan has lost her women’s 100m world hurdles title.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that Amusan was defeated by Jamaica’s Danielle Williams at the World Athletics Championship final on Thursday in Budapest.
The 30-year-old Williams last won the title in Beijing in 2015 and coasted to victory with a 12.43 seconds time.

However, prominent Nigerians and fans took to social media to laud Amusan for her courage throughout the championships and for even qualifying for the finals.
Recall that Amusan was cleared of doping violation allegations with the provisional suspension on her lifted just days before the commencement of the championship.
Athletics Integrity Unit had provisionally suspended Amusan in July for missing three drug tests within a 12-month period; an offence which carries a two-year suspension term.
Ultimately, the Disciplinary Tribunal announced the verdict which stated, “Tobi Amusan has not committed an Anti-Doping Rule Violation of three Whereabouts Failures within a 12-month period”.
On Thursday at the finals, Williams, running in the outsider’s lane two, rose at the final hurdle alongside Camacho-Quinn and Harrison.
