According to Lai, Siemen will be growing the 3,400 MW presently in the country to 7,000 MW by year 2021.
The phase two of the project will further increase the Megs Watts by 1,000 in the year 2023, and for the third and last phase, the country will see an additional increase of 25,000 Megawatts.
According to reports, Nigeria’s current power generation capacity is more than 13,000 MW. Hence, only an average of 3,400 MW reach consumers reliably.
This sees the need for the increased budgets for Megawatts to generate more electricity.
The Minister also said that the deal would create more job opportunities in the country.
