In a tweet, Ekpa thanked the President of the Benin Republic for ensuring Igboho’s release.

“I just spoke to my brother and friend Chief Sunday Igboho on the phone a few minutes ago and I can confirm he is a free person,” Ekpa said.

I must thank Benin’s President for his role in freeing Chief Igboho, followed by our Leader MNK. Oduduwa, please accept my congratulations! Freedom!”

On Monday, Igboho regained their freedom in Cotonou, Benin Republic.
