NUJ Angered at Hike in Pump Price in Yobe

The Yobe State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has expressed concern about the continued scarcity of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and the increase in pump prices in Damaturu and its environs.

In a statement made available to newsmen, Comrade Rajab Mohammed, NUJ Chairman Yobe State Council, stated the union’s position.

He urged all relevant agencies to wake up to their responsibilities as soon as possible in order to alleviate citizens’ suffering.

According to him, the NUJ in the state will keep a close eye on the product’s distribution, sales, and hoarding in order to ensure its availability and accessibility.

“As a result, we are urging citizens to remain calm and at hoarding, increase in Yobe pump price.”

According to him, the NUJ in the state will keep a close eye on the product’s distribution, sales, and hoarding in order to ensure its availability and accessibility.

“As a result, we are appealing to citizens to remain calm and law-abiding,” he said.

End users can purchase the product for N200 to N210 per liter at a few petrol stations in Damaturu where it is available.

Desperate motorists are reportedly venturing outside of the state capital in search of fuel, which is said to be a little cheaper.

Despite the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation’s (NNPC) assurances to Nigerians that it has enough petrol to get around the country in the shortest amount of time, the situation is looming.
