Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State led faces of dignitaries that attended the one year coronation anniversary of His Royal Majesty, Dr. King Ekioemi Oweiagbe John, Gbesa I, the Ebenanaowei of Operemor Kingdom.

The grandeur event, which held on Saturday March 16 at Ojobo, headquarters of the kingdom, was also attended by the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor.

The host monarch in his address, thanked God for his mercies and grace that saw him through a successful first year on the throne.

Gbesa also called out to the governments of Delta and Bayelsa States to attend to the plight of his kingdom, particularly Ojobo that has been denied of adequate government presence despite contributing greatly to the economical wellbeing of the twin states.

The paramount ruler laid emphasis on the need for road networks, power, portable water amongst other basic amenities as needs of his people.

Responding, Governor Oborevwori said his government will evaluate the monarch’s demand and provide adequate measures where necessary.

Other dignitaries at the event include the lawmaker representing Burutu Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon Julius Pondi; Chief Peres Oloye, Burutu Constituency II; Olorogun Kingsley Esiso, PDP Chairman Delta State; Chief Favour Izoukumor, Executive Director DESOPADEC, Barry Gbe, amongst other political big wigs.

The host monarch was joined by traditional rulers of major kingdoms across Delta State.

The entourage of monarchs included HRM S. P Luke, Kalanama VIII, Pere of Akugbene-Mein Kingdom; HRM Couple Oromoni, Pere of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri-Kingdom; HRM Dio Bosu, Pere of Iduwini Kingdom; HRM Igbobere Isoun VI, Pere of Isaba Kingdom, HRM Shedrack Erebulu, Aduo III, Pere of Kabowei Kingdom; and HRM Danladi Owoupele, Pere of Tarakiri Kingdom.

High point of the ceremony was the conferment of chieftaincy titles on deserving individuals by the Operemor monarch.

Conferees include Solomon Funkekeme, Prof. Benjamin Okaba, Engr Ezonebi Oyakemeagbegha, Prince Emman Amgbaduba, amongst others.
