Your Excellency,

I write to you today on behalf of the entire community of Polobubo in Warri North Local Government Area, Delta State. We are currently facing a dire situation due to excess flooding, and we Plead for your immediate intervention and the urgent presence of the government in addressing this issue.

“Polobubo Community, known for its rich cultural heritage and vibrant economic activities, has now been rendered helpless and devastated by the unprecedented level of flooding. The magnitude of the flood has far exceeded our worst nightmares, causing immense damage to our homes, farmlands, businesses, and public infrastructure.

“The lives and livelihoods of our people are at great risk, and we urgently require governmental support to mitigate the impact of this disaster.

“The flood has resulted in the displacement of numerous families, leading to untold hardship and suffering, particularly among the most vulnerable members of our community. Our schools, health facilities, and other essential institutions have been adversely affected, with operations coming to a standstill. This dire situation further underscores the urgent need for swift government intervention.

“We implore you, Your Excellency, to mobilize all necessary resources, both human and material, to provide immediate relief to our community. We urgently require government intervention in the form of emergency shelters, food, clean water, and medical supplies to alleviate the suffering of the affected residents.

“Furthermore, we plead for the establishment of a specialized task force dedicated to coordinating rescue operations, evacuation, and the provision of aid to affected families. This task force should work in synergy with relevant ministries, agencies, and non-governmental organizations, ensuring a well-coordinated response to the crisis at hand.

“Recognizing the long-term implications of such disasters, we also humbly request the government’s commitment to implementing sustainable flood control measures in our community. Investment in flood prevention infrastructure, such as reinforced embankments, drainage systems, and early warning systems, will go a long way in protecting us from future occurrences and enhancing our resilience as a community.

“Moreover, we beseech Your Excellency to ensure that post-flood recovery plans are put in place promptly. The provision of financial assistance and rehabilitation programs will be crucial in helping our community rebuild and recover from the immense losses suffered.

“Your Excellency, as the father of the state, we look up to your leadership and compassionate governance during these challenging times. We appeal to your sense of duty and urgency to promptly come to the aid of our community, which is in dire need of your intervention.

“We remain hopeful that you will heed our plea and take immediate action to bring relief to the people of Polobubo. Your swift intervention will not only ameliorate the suffering of our people but also reaffirm your administration’s commitment to the welfare and well-being of all Delta State citizens.

“We humbly request an audience with Your Excellency to further discuss the specifics of the situation and explore possible solutions. We trust in your wisdom and dedication to steer the state towards progress and assure you of our support and cooperation in this endeavor.

“Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of our highest respect and best wishes.”
