The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 54-year-old pastor identified as Niyi Omowodun, for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl in an uncompleted building.

The suspect, a pastor at the Helmet of Life International, was learnt to have dragged the victim who was sent on an errand, to an uncompleted building where he had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.

This happened at the Ejigun Agbede community of Ado-odo Local Government Area, Ogun state.

While confirming the incident, Ogun state police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said that the suspect was arrested on Monday, following a complaint laid by the father of the victim.

The father of the victim had explained that while he was at his workplace, he had received a call from one of his neighbors that his daughter had been sexually molested by the said suspect as he was caught in the act.

On interrogation, the suspect confessed to committing the crime as he claimed he was tempted to commit the offence. Meanwhile, the suspect said he has separated from his ex-wife since 2016.

Further investigations have commenced as the suspect if found guilty within the law will be duly prosecuted.
