His sudden death has shocked colleagues and left a void in the electoral community.

Niyi Ijalaye, the Ogun State Resident Electoral Commissioner, passed away suddenly on Monday evening.

According to a source within the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Ijalaye collapsed and died after a significant meeting at the INEC headquarters in Abuja.

Reports indicate that Ijalaye, an Ondo State indigene known for his dedication to the electoral process, had been actively participating in the discussions and was in good spirits during the meeting. However, shortly after returning to his hotel room, he collapsed and died.
