Okowa Lauds Angele, Commissions HPM, TLG Residential Complex in Burutu

Governor of Delta state, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has lauded the Executive Chairman of Burutu Local Government Area, Rt Hon Godknows Angele, following the completion and commissioning of a residential complex project.

Okowa who was represented by the Senior Special Assistant on Local Government Affairs, Hon Kelly Penawou particularly commended the Council Chairman for maximizing the scarce resources made available to his administration.

The Special Assistant also inspected other ongoing projects spearheaded by the Council Chairman that include a dedicated quarter for the 20 Councillors in the Council, Police Area Commander’s quarter, renovationf of the Vice Chairman’s quarter, amongst others.

Penawou while commissioning the two blocks of 2-bedroom complex dedicatively built for the Head of Personnel Management (HPM) and the Treasurer of the Local Government (TLG) in the Council, described Angele’s efforts as the best he has seen throughout his project inspection tours.

“I must confess that the Chairman has done very well. This is the best I’ve inspected in all my tours put together. With what I’ve seen, Angele has done beyond the expectations of all,” he asserted.

Penawou further pleaded with the Burutu people to return Angele for a second tenure in the forthcoming Local Government elections in the state.

In his welcome address, Angele stated that his administration had embarked on unquantifiable projects since inception. Among such projects include a power generating plant, renovation and equiping of health centres in the Council and the employment of 450 environmental workers and others.

He particularly emphasized on his administration’s commitment to tackling issues of insecurity that led to the establishment of the Burutu Area Command of the Nigerian Police Force.

Quizzed on any last minute surprises for the Burutu people by our correspondent, Angele revealed that his next line of action is geared towards easing the burden and cost of education for students in the Council.

Meanwhile, attempts to ascertain the figures behind the commissioned residential complex by our correspondent proved abortive as at the time of filing this report.

Hon Godknows Angele has been under heavy scrutiny with allegations of embezzlement of public funds by his administration to the tune of ₦4 billion most notably by the Ijaw People’s Development Initiative, IPDI.

His second term ambition has been greeted with mixed reactions from various stakeholders in Burutu Council, with many calling on Angele to bury the idea.

The commissioning of the projects was witnessed by the Elders Council, Community Executives and the Youth Executives in Burutu.
