Okowa’s Chief of Staff, Seven Commissioners Resign from Delta Cabinet | Daily Report Nigeria

The Chief of Staff to the Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, alongside 7 Commissioners have resigned from the State Executive Council.

Their resignation was triggered by Section 84 (12) of the Electoral Act 2022, which stipulates that political appointees must resign their appointments before participating in the 2023 general elections, either as delegate or elective office position seeker.

Those who resigned their appointments are Chief of Staff to the governor Festus Agas, Evelyn Oboro, Basil Ganagana, Christian Onogba, Julius Egbedi, Ovie Oghoore, Jonathan Ukodhiko and Chika Ossai.

It was learnt that some have resigned to vie for elective positions and others to participate as statutory delegates at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) convention
