Okoye’s Absence is a Setback for the Super Eagles

Maduka Okoye, the Super Eagles goalkeeper, will miss Nigeria’s FIFA 2022 World Cup playoff against Ghana’s Black Stars on Friday due to illness.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Super Eagles made the announcement via their Instagram account.

Enyimba’s John Noble has taken Okoye’s place.

Ghana will host Nigeria in the first leg of the World Cup qualifying match on Friday at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

The Super Eagles will then host Ghana four days later at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja in the return leg.
