The Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the immediate dissolution of the State’s Local Government Service Commission in a decisive move to streamline government operations and improve efficiency within the public sector.

In a statement issued on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, Okpebholo explained that the dissolution is part of his administration’s ongoing efforts to overhaul the state’s public service sector.

The governor assured that the restructuring would not affect the ongoing operations of the commission, emphasizing that the focus is on eliminating inefficiency and promoting transparency within local government structures.

“This decision was necessary to revitalise the Local Government Service Commission and reposition it for better service delivery. Our aim is to build a more accountable and effective local government structure,” Okpebholo stated, adding that this is in line with his government’s broader reform agenda.
