Oldest Worker In Alaafin of Oyo’s Palace, Baba Keji Dies

Morenikeji Lasisi, popularly known as Baba Keji in the palace of Alaafin of Oyo in Oyo State, has died.

Baba Keji died as the oldest person in the palace at age 120.

Baba Keji had served three Alaafins before he died on Sunday night, February 12.

His death came ten months after the demise of Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III. The deceased served the late king for 51 years before he joined his ancestors.

He was described as a loyal steward and unrepentantly dedicated to his primary duties in the palace.

The late Baba Keji was buried on Monday, February 13, according to Islamic rites.

One of the palace aides said:

He performs his duties, diligently, as assigned by the Alaafin.
