The Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Agboola Ajayi, has revealed that the State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, receives a security vote of N750million Naira as well as a monthly imprest of about N150 million.

The governorship candidate of the Zenith Labour Party in the forthcoming elections in Ondo also stated that he earns a measly N12 million naira as monthly imprest and not the N13 million as claimed by Governor Akeredolu.

Ajayi made the revelations while reacting to Akeredolu’s claims of Ajayi receiving the highest running grant of N13m monthly.

In a statement through his spokesman, Allen Sowore, Ajayi expressed surprise that Governor Akeredolu’s could reveal the sum of N13m as what he receives as if it was a gift.

Ajayi reiterated he usually received N12 million per month, until the Governor stopped releasing the said sum.

He lamented that expenses covered by the sum includes the imprest of his office as Deputy Governor, allowances of staff, fuelling of vehicles, care of his residence and welfare of his aides.

“Huge as the amount may appear, it amounts to not so much when the heads and number of individuals it caters for are considered,” he added.

“The governor gets a security vote of N750million naira every month. He, Akeredolu, also gets an imprest of about N150 million”

Ajayi further alleged that the governor’s wife and son collects millions of naira as imprest on monthly basis without occupying any constitutionally recognised positions.
