Ondo State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr Olubunmi Osadahun, who was at the weekend during palliative distribution exercise, has been hospitalised.
Osadahun was attacked at Arigidi Akoko, Akoko Local Government Area in the North West of the state.
She was said to have been hit on the head with a chair during the food distribution as a palliative measure to support those vulnerable to inflation caused by the Federal Government’s removal of fuel subsidies.

The commissioner was said to have faced opposition from some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the local government following allegations that the exercise was kept secret by government officials.
Although the police was yet to name those responsible for the attack, there are allegations that the Chairman of APC Akoko North West Ward 1, Olumide Awolumate, popularly known as “Cuba” did the attack.
Due to injuries sustained in the attack, the commissioner was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Some youths identified as loyalists to the commissioner took revenge by beating Awolumate.
