Enenche made the statement on Monday while addressing journalists in Makurdi, Benue State, shortly after arriving for a two-day Healing and Deliverance Crusade organised by the church.
According to him, Nigerians must deliberately seek God’s mercy if the country is to break free from the forces holding it down.
“We are here to connect with the God of mercy. The Bible says it is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed because His compassion does not fail. They are new every morning,” Enenche said.
He stressed that the country is living in a critical time where divine intervention is urgently needed.
“We live in a nation at a time when we need nothing but the mercy of God. Whether it is insecurity or any other threat trying to consume the land, we are here to ask God for mercy,” he added.
The cleric also challenged leaders at all levels of government to look up to God, accept responsibility for their actions, and develop genuine compassion for the people they govern.
“Let the leadership of our nation take responsibility and have a heart for human beings. As we do our part, we trust God for His intervention,” he said.
The church also revealed that the crusade was part of a week-long outreach programme that began in Ankpa, Kogi State, on February 2 and ended in Makurdi, Benue State, on February 7.
The outreach included crusades, prayer sessions, deliverance services, and a large-scale free medical programme.
According to the statement:
- 4,007 people received medical care across Ankpa, Gboko, and Makurdi
- 235 dental scaling and polishing procedures were carried out
- Six tooth extractions were performed
- Common cases treated included malaria, hypertension, diabetes, ulcers, skin diseases, and urinary tract infections
Some emergency cases were stabilised and referred for advanced treatment in Ankpa and Makurdi.
