The Speaker of the House of Assembly, Adewale Egbedun has escaped death after getting involved in an auto crash.

Egbedun narrowly escaped death on Sunday, September 24, when his convoy was involved in an accident while leaving Osogbo, the state capital.

According to sources, four security operatives accompanying him sustained several injuries in the incident.

The accident was reportedly caused by a faulty tire, which had its first layer removed while in motion.

The source said:

The vehicle hit that speaker but with low impact. The speaker is safe but four of the security were injured and taken to a private hospital around the Oke-Baale area of Osogbo where they are receiving treatment.”

The spokesperson of the speaker, Olamide Tiamiyu said concerning the accident;

“It occurred when the speaker was going out of Osogbo. Two of the security operatives have been discharged.”
