Former President of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Oweilaemi Pereotubo has announced a new burial date for his late mother, Madam Poun-ere Rosemary Pereotubo (Nee Ekeinga).
The announcement is coming on the heels of a postponement of the occasion earlier fixed for November 4 – 6, 2022.
According to a statement released by the family on, Madam Poun-ere’s burial was postponed over the flood that raged through many Niger Delta communities.

“Due to the ravaging flood epidemic that has affected all our communities, we the families and the children of madam POUN-ERE ROSEMARY PEREOTUBO ( NEE EKEINGA) wishes to inform the general public of the shift in dates,” the postponement notice read in part.
By the new announcement, the burial program for Madam Poun-ere is now scheduled as follows;

Service of songs at No. 6 Jide close, off Commissioner Road, Opposite Ekpan General Hospital, Warri, Delta state.“Wednesday November 23, 2022
All night wake keep at Torugbene town, Burutu LGA. Delta State.“Thursday November 24, 2022
Funeral service (afternoon) at Tuomo town, Burutu LGA. Delta State.“Sunday November 27, 2022 Thanksgiving Service at The Greatest Father Living Church of God aka Kongi.”
Foremost Ijaw gospel artiste, Pastor Golipat would take centre stage at Service of Songs in Warri, while Ijaw highlife star, Kingsley Takembo woukd entertain guests at the Wake Keep at Torugbene.
Also, highlife maestro, Ezonebi Alfred J-King will thrill guests during the funeral service at Tuomo a day after.
