A couple in India have reportedly welcomed a baby with 26 fingers and toes.
The girl was born in a hospital in Bharatpur, in the northern Indian state of Rajasthan.
Doctors explained her condition as a genetic abnormality.
Also, one Dr BS Soni, a medic at the hospital where the baby was born, said:
“There is no harm of any kind in having 26 fingers, but it is a genetic anomaly. The girl is otherwise absolutely healthy.”
Notwithstanding, the parents,
Gopal Bhattacharya and Sarju Devi have called her the reincarnation of a Hindu goddess.
Her excited family then dedicated her to Doragal (a famous local deity) at a nearby temple.
He publicly stated that he was a reincarnated version of Dholagarh Devi.

showed it to be a young girl with multiple arms.
The new-born baby’s brother told local media:
“My sister has given birth to a baby who has 26 fingers, and we are considering it to be the incarnation of Dholagarh Devi. We are very happy.”
