Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola acknowledged that his team was fortunate to secure a 2-1 victory over Brentford on Saturday.

Yoane Wissa scored for Brentford less than 25 seconds into the match, putting City on the back foot early on.

However, Erling Haaland’s two goals in the first half turned the game around and earned the Premier League champions the win.

After the match, Guardiola admitted that his team struggled to perform well. “We were lucky with the deflection because Brentford deserved to be 1-0 up,” he said.

“We had difficulty in reading when to shoot and press. While we were fortunate to score, we were better in the second half and could have scored more.”

Pep Guardiola emphasized the challenges of the Premier League, noting that the game highlighted how tough every match can be.
