Police Dismisses Two Officers For Assaulting Keke Rider in Delta | Daily Report Nigeria

The Delta State Police Command has dismissed two of its officers for assaulting one Brodrick Omesan, a keke driver.

The two officers discharged from Nigeria Police Force are Seargent Felix Ebikabowei and Ndubuisi Abazie.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, Mr Bright Edafe stated that the officers had conspired to engage in illegal duty along estate roundabout in Warri.

He also said the duo who were attached to ‘B’ Division, Warri so conspired after they closed at work on 12th of August this year.

“They accosted a Tricycle Rider one Brodrick Omesan‘m’ age 36 years of Oviri street Agbarho. An argument ensued between the policemen and the victim during which they allegedly pushed and beat him up which led to serious injuries on his head,” Edafe said.

The victim had however been rushed to the hospital and currently responding to medical treatment.

The matter was thereby asked by the CoP to be transferred to SCID for discreet and impartial investigation.

The officers were tried for the offence of disobedience to lawful order and incivility to members of the public.

Their offences were said to have contravened paragraph E(iii) first schedule of the Police Act and Regulations 370, paragraph F of Police Act and regulations CAP P.9 laws laws of the federal republic of Nigeria 2004.

Sufficiently enough, the two officers were found guilty on both counts and have been consequently discharged from the force W.E.F 14/9/202.
