Two (2) bullion vans have been impounded by police operatives attached to the Area J Command in Ajah, Lagos state, for moving cash without security escorts.

The bullions which were reportedly loaded with money belonging to commercial banks were impounded by the Area Commander, ACP Gbolahan Olugbemi, for having violated approved standard species escort procedure which include an escort vehicle in front and at the back, with minimum of four (4) mobile policemen in each vehicle.

This is coming after the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, counseled officials of banks and Cash-In-Transition to always observe standing and standard operating procedure to prevent security breaches.
