The Police Command in Delta state has taken into custody the General Overseer of Victory Revival Deliverance Ministry, Bishop Elijah over the alleged rape of one his members.
Pastor Elijah is said to have taken advantage of the victim during a deliverance session at the church situated along Apala road, Okumagba Avenue of Warri South Local Government Area.
A patrol team of Warri Area Command picked up the clergy on Thursday following his refusal to respond to different invitations by the police for questioning.
Reliable sources say that Pastor Elijah had held a deliverance program in the church and lured his victim who he may have targeted overtime through a false prophesy.
According to Mangrove News, the victim is not a member of the church. Only her parents worship with the church.
She was only invited to the deliverance program by her mother after the pastor had given the threatening prophecy centering around his target victim and the family.
The clergy had prophesied about a looming death hovering around the family as well his victim being a target evil forces that has been working against the family.
Her appointment with the clergy for the deliverance was fixed for May 20th and she responded owing to the respect she had for Pastor Elijah.
Bishop Elijah is said to have issued her a supposed anointing oil for her to drink some and also to be ministered on her private part prior to her deliverance schedule in a bud to set the deliverance on course.
The victim did as the clergy had instructed but lost control of herself as she became very weak as he commenced with his deliverance session.
She managed to get home after the alleged rape but collapsed as she got home. She only regained herself at the hospital where she narrated her ordeal and stating all she had suffered in the hands of the clergy to family members.
Bishop Elijah is said to have been on the run since the said event occurred, refusing to report at the police station despite various invitations.
He was finally apprehended yesterday by the patrol team of the Warri Area Command.
