Police Rescue 5-Year-Old Chained, Starved By Father | Daily Report Nigeria

Operatives of the Bauchi State Police Command have arrested a suspected child abuser, and rescued a five year old boy.

According to reports, the police was tipped by a concerned neighborhood, who raised concern about a young boy being chained in Gwallagan Mayaka area in the Bauchi metropolis.

The police got wins of the situation after a man reported that his wife, (name withheld) saw a 5-year-old boy of their neighbour tied with a chain inside a room situated at the same address.

She went further to check the boy and discovered him in unconscious on the ground.

 

Confirming the incident and arrest, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, in a statement related to journalist said upon receipt of the information, a police team of detectives led by CSP Mubarak S. Baba, DPO D’ Division, Dutsen Tanshi moved to the scene and rescued the boy.

The victim, who identified himself as Hussaini Abubakar noted that he had been chained and starved by his father for three days.

Upon interrogations, the suspect, Abubakar Nuhu, 50 years old said he he confined the minor “in order to restrict him from stealing their neighbour’s valuables” and he was advised to do so by a friend.

 

The PPRO said the CP had directed the DPO to transfer the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department, State CID, and directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Department to discreetly investigate the matter and other motives surrounding the dastardly act.
