POP: NYSC Directs Corp Members on How to Collect Certificates

POP is short for Passing Out Parade

Authorities of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC has given directives to all Corp Members who are qualified for the upcoming Passing Out Parade slated for Thursday this week.

The NYSC has directed all Batch “B” Stream 1 corps members killed to pass out on Thursday to pick up their National Service certificates at the the level Local Governments where they served.

The scheme reveals that officials of the NYSC have already been mobilised for the sole purpose of distributing the NYSC certificates.

The already mobilized officials are also billed embark the distribution of the certificates from a minimum ten service points in every of the Local Government Councils where the exercise will take place.

The NYSC further explained that the Scheme is putting precautionary measures in check and hence, the distribution of certificates will span ten days.

The exercise will be staggered over a timeline of ten days in the very first instance, this the Scheme explained is in a bid to quell probable anxiety from the qualified corp members.

The National Youth Service Corps also noted that no ceremonial parades will precede the the event billed for May 28 owing to the novel coronavirus pandemic.

The Director, Press and Public Relations, Mrs. Adenike Adeyemi, in a statement on Monday, urged all passing out corp members to observe orderliness, strict discipline, the use of facial masks, hand sanitizer, social distancing, and proper washing of hands while partaking in the event.

The NYSC advised corp members, who at present are not currently absent from their deployed states of service, to stay put until the interstate travel ban in their domiciled states were lifted before traveling to the pick up their certificates.

It will be recalled that the Federal Government of Nigeria had in March, ordered for all serving corp members to return to their home states as a measure to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus.
