Presidency Reaffirms Tinubu’s Commitment To Reducing Inflation To 15% By 2025

  • The presidency has reaffirmed President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to reducing Nigeria’s inflation to 15% by December 2025.

The presidency has reiterated President Bola Tinubu’s pledge to reduce Nigeria’s inflation to 15% by December 2025.

This commitment was first made during the presentation of the ₦47.9 trillion 2025 budget to the National Assembly, where the president projected a decline in inflation from the current 34.6% to 15%.

According to Dada Olusegun, the Special Assistant to President Tinubu on Social Media, the president intends to achieve this goal through agriculture and food security initiatives.

Olusegun stated that several mechanisms have been put in place to achieve this agenda, including the delivery of 2,000 tractors, 4,000 disc ploughs, 1,000 disc ridges, 1,200 tractor trailers, and other assorted spare parts to Nigeria in the coming weeks.

The presidency’s reaffirmation of this commitment comes amidst skepticism from certain quarters.

However, Olusegun emphasized that the aim is achievable, citing the planned establishment of assembly/maintenance plants in Nigeria by an agricultural manufacturing firm, JohnDeere. “Part of the steps put in place to achieve the dream include the delivery of agricultural equipment in the next few weeks,” Olusegun stated.

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, Joe Igbokwe, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has urged presidential aspirants to abandon their ambitions until 2031. Igbokwe claimed that President Bola Tinubu needs a second term to “set the records straight.”

In a post shared on his official Facebook page, Igbokwe warned that Tinubu would remain in power until 2031.
