Nollywood Actor, Dejo Tunfulu
A popular Nigerian actor, Dejo Tunfulu died on April 1st, throwing the Nollywood industry into mourning.
His death was confirmed by his friend and colleague, Kunle Afod.

Adeyemi Olabode, a well-known radio host, also confirmed the report on his Facebook page.
Gospel Singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu
Popular Nigerian gospel singer, Sister Osinachi Nwachukwu died following protracted illness in a hospital in Abuja.
While cause of Osinachi’s death is still sketchy, sources have attributed her death to throat cancer.
Osinachi, renowned for a mastery in the use of Igbo language in her songs, was famous for her role in the hit song Ekwueme by Prospa Ochimana, released in 2017.
Former Dangote Cement MD, Joseph Makoju
A former Adviser to President Olusegun Obasanjo, Engineer Joseph Oyeyani Makoju, died at a private hospital in Abuja on Monday, April 11.
Makoju who was also a former Managing Director of Dangote Cement Company Limited was aged 73.
Highlife Legend, Orlando Julius
Iconic Nigerian highlife veteran, Orlando Julius, died in Lagos aged 79.
He was renowned for the ‘A dara, a dara’ hit and many other songs.
Orlando Julius’ demise was announced his wife, Latoya Aduke, through revered music promoter boss, Bimbo Esho.
Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi
The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi died at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State at age 83.
Lamidi Adeyemi succeeded Alaafin Gbadegesin Ladigbolu II in 1970.
He ruled for 52 years before his demise, making him the longest-reigning Alaafin.
Nigeria’s Statistician-General, Simon Harry
The Statistician-General of the Federation, Simon Harry died seven months after he was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari.
His death was confirmed by the Director, Communication and Public Relations Department, Ichedi Joel in Abuja.
“It is not a rumor anymore, the SG is dead, he died from an illness.” Joel said.
Former Nigerian Minister, Alabo Tonye Graham-Douglas
A former Nigerian minister of Aviation, Alabo Tonye Graham-Douglas also died in April 2022.
The prominent Rivers State indigene, who also served as minister of youths, sports, and culture.
Born May 8, 1939, Graham-Douglas was appointed Nigeria’s Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture in 1989, and then Minister of Aviation under General Ibrahim Babaginda.
He was appointed Minister of Labour and Productivity, and in 2000, Minister of Tourism by President Olusegun Obasanjo in 1999, before leaving office in January 2001.
House of Reps Member, Nse Ekpenyong
The lawmaker representing Oron Federal Constituency of Akwa Ibom Statein the Federal House of Representatives, Nse Ekpenyong, died on Saturday, April 23, at the age of 58.
His demise was confirmed by the chairman of Mbo Local Government Area, Asuqwo Eyo.
According to Asuqwo Eyo, Nse Ekpenyong was not ill before his death.
AIT Correspondent, Mahammad Danladi Ibrahim
Mallam Muhammad Danladi Ibrahim, a Niger State Correspondent with the African Independent Television (AIT), died from a fatal car accident that occurred on Thursday, April 21, in Minna, the Niger state capital.
This was confirmed on Friday by the Chairman and Secretary of the Niger State Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists ( NUJ) Niger State Council, Yakubu Mustapha and Daniel Atori.
Nollywood Actress, Chinedu Bernard
Nollywood Actress, Chinedu Bernard died after slumping in a church.
Daily Report Nigeria gathered that the ‘Big Mama’s Stick’ star was confirmed dead by doctors at the East Side hospital in Enugu.
Bernard is said to have slumped while cleaning the Chapel of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church inside the Federal Housing Area in the state.
She was rushed to the hospital by one of the parish priests identified as Rev Fr Uchendu Chukwuma.
However, the ‘Last Manhood’ actress was declared dead on arrival by doctors at the hospital.
