The protest came hours after bandits attacked the community around 11:30 pm on Sunday, abducting seven residentsduring the operation.
A resident who spoke anonymously said the attackers stormed the area in large numbers and were heavily armed.
“In the last one month alone, more than four people have been kidnapped here. Last night, about 15 bandits came into this community with AK-47 rifles and took at least five people to an unknown location,” the resident said.
According to him, the situation has left residents living in fear, with many afraid to sleep at night due to the growing insecurity.
The Chairman of the Danhonu II Landlords Association, Akoh Salifu, who led the protest, said the community had reached its breaking point.
“We are here because we can no longer live in peace. The pressure from these repeated kidnapping incidents has become unbearable for us,” Salifu said.
He revealed that some youths attempted to chase the kidnappers into nearby bushes after Sunday’s attack but were unsuccessful.
Salifu explained that the decision to march to the police station was a peaceful move to demand urgent security intervention.
“As law-abiding citizens, we decided to come to the police to formally register our grievances and cry out for urgent help to save our community,” he added.
Confirming the incident, the Kaduna State Police Command spokesperson, Mansir Hassan, said security agencies responded promptly after receiving distress calls.
According to him, police officers were immediately deployed to the scene alongside soldiers to contain the situation and track the attackers.
